My boy has been going longer and longer between poops and after 7 days I called the pediatrician and she wanted to check him out. Turns out he’s just fine, and it’s totally normal for breastfed babies this age to go from 5-10 poops per day so once every 5 or so days. She recommended straight pear juice to get things moving (baby hates prune). I’m curious how long I can expect before baby lets loose a week’s worth of poop. Mostly wondering if I should wait until morning to give him the juice.
Anyone have experience with this?

Id consider waiting until morning based on our experience! We give prune/apple juice mixed with water and puréed prunes and she had the purée last night for dinner and pooped sometime during the night which she never does

my 2nd baby would only poo once every two weeks! Our pediatrician said no need to do anything or give anything unless it was more than a month. We never did use juice. Just let her do her thing.
You can do some rectal stimulation too tho if needed and we would do that if we had a flight or long drive so she didn’t go and explode while traveling. The Frida Windi works perfect for that.

@cinquieme,
our pediatrician recommended a few centimeters of rectal thermometer if needed. Glad to know that works haha

@JustMadge,
yes the thermometer or the windi work well for us too! Just put some Vaseline or something on the end haha

Yes! We used prune juice and definitely use in the AM. He pooped within an hour or two. Works like a charm!
