Today Jimmy Reutter’s 462” street piece, Iron head BBC Pump Gas Hydraulic Flat Tappet Cam!After break-in this is the first pull to 6k, she made 537ftlbs@3,000rpm STUMP PULLER!! and 563hp @6,000rpm! Not bad for 1st pull with only 33 degrees of timingStay tuned…

The little Chevy 302 that could..A question was asked on many forums a few years ago, what was the real horsepower of the single four barrel 1969 Z/28 had 302 cubic inches and that were advertised as having 290hp? And what about the infamous 69 z28 DZ302 as well? We’ve all heard many, many times the horsepower number was intentionally held down for a variety of reasons including insurance and GM now wanting to have a car with more HP than cubic inch. That HiPo DZ302 engine was designed to compete in SCCA competition. It featured 11:1 compression, forged pistons, forged steel crankshaft and connecting rods, solid lifter camshaft, and Holley dual carburetors on a dual-plane intake manifold. Chevrolet was being a little tricky about how they reported the horsepower on this car, measuring it at a said 5000rpm limit. Actual peak horsepower for the high-revving 302 with the dual quad Cross Ram was 400 hp at 6800 to 7000 rpm. Until this 1969 version of the Camaro Z/28 came out the general public was not aware of its performance capability. So this morning we had a unique opportunity to take a fairly close to stock 302 with Crossram to 7000 rpm to see what she can do!Best pull was with VP110 and 39 degrees of timing she made 439hp!Not bad for OEM heads and intakeThis motor was ahead of it’s timeThanks to Mike and John B for allowing us the opportunity to make a few pulls

The first of twins is docked in the dyno tonight…warming up /checking for leaks. Tomorrow should be fun!#BoostDay

So you might recall we took a customers 468 BBC and ran it on August 8 -it made 616 hp with 13:1 compression. After lowering the compression to 10.3 to 1 changing a camshaft and doing a little magic to the cylinder heads we managed to make another additional 115 foot pounds of torque! And almost 80 more horsepower!!! SK Speed for the win!! It’s all about combinations!

Today on the SK Dyno, a pump gas aluminum Edlebrock headed 454 BBC. After a little tinkering with jets and timing we pulled 640 hp at 7200rpm. Mild solid roller 250/260 duration, pump gas 10:1, dart single plane intake Gen 6 block with a good Moroso pan. Ready to put in your car!! We will be selling this- stay tuned for details!!

So today we ran our customers 468 to get a baseline before we take some compression out of this build and make it track & street friendly. Aluminum head old school build 13:1 468 from back in the day, pulled 618hp today before falling off a bit after 7,000rpm. So the goal here is to go through this build and make more power with pump gas! To be continued..Our man Richie Zul was on the controls today feeling this old girl out.
