Tips & Tricks for our Two-Step Protein Treatment

Having trouble and need help using our Two-Step Protein Treatment? ApHogee is here to the rescue!!! Find out how to use the Two-Step Protein Treatment like an expert.

In order for the protein treatment to properly bond to your hair, it is important your hair is clean. We suggest using our Shampoo for Damaged Hair. Once you rinse out the shampoo, towel dry your hair.

TIP: TRANSFER NEEEDED TREATMENT TO A NARROW TIP APPLICATOR BOTTLE FOR EASIER APPLICATION.

To make life easier, brush through your hair to get all the tangles out and split your hair up into sections. Start off with one section, apply Two-Step Protein Treatment and comb hair with a wide tooth comb. (TIP FOR CURLIES: After combing through your hair, ‘scrunch’ your hair as if you were applying mousse. It will help the treatment dry in the shape of your curl pattern.)

Use a hand dryer with low-medium heat and high air flow. Hand dryer is a last resort Hooded or hard hat dryer is best, as an alternative, you may use a hand held dryer. DO NOT use a plastic cap or touch your hair while it is drying. Depending on hair length, thickness etc. it will take about 20-45 minutes for the protein treatment to fully bond to your hair. You will know the protein treatment is complete when your hair feels like uncooked ramen.

Let warm water run through your hair and gently rinse. Make sure all of the protein treatment is rinsed out. Then re-rise!

Leave on for 2 minutes & then rinse.

For seriously damaged hair, use once every 4-6 weeks, depending on your shampoo frequency. As your hair grows following the damaging event, you may find you can switch to a convenient, one-step, such as our Keratin Reconstructor and maintain your hair’s condition.

If you continue the regimen that caused the damage ( bleaching, relaxing, perming, high heat use) you may find it best to continue regular use of the Two-Step Treatment.

Need something simpler and don’t have a dryer? As an alternative, try our easy to use Hair Strengthening Kit and you’ll be done in 15 minutes.
